1) Stapled Exam papers with an orange reply slip are returned to pupils. Parents are to check every script and ensure that the answers are correctly marked and the total marks for each page and grand total are correct. Pls also check that the marks reflected on the orange reply slip are correctly transferred. Only the total marks for Oral are given. The Oral scoresheet will not be given. Pupul has to return all exam papers with the parents' signature on the reply slip and exam scripts tomorrow. 2) Pupils in the Pr 1 Orientation skit need not attend the practice on Thursday as Mrs Thomasz has a pupil promotion meeting with the school, hence practice session on Thursday is cancelled.

1) Put Compo corrections in purple file. 2) Parent to sign Trial Paper 2012 . Revise and put in brown file. 3) Revise all Compo notes and star writer compos in purple file. Revise esp the latest compo notes, particularly how to spell commonly misspelt words and the colourful phrases. Take note of the following points : - Try not to write more than 180 words - Tendency to make errors is higher with longer piece of writing. A shorter piece with no errors may get higher marks than one that is particularly long but has errors. - Use dialogue only if you are confident on using it and know how to punctuate it well. Punctuation errors are penalised. - Must have at least 4 paragraphs. Do not have particularly long paragraphs. It is preferable to have shorter paragraphs, even if it means having more no of paragraphs. - Your story has to be based on the 4 pictures given. Do not write out of context. - Please make the flow smooth as you go from one paragraph to another by having link words. - Try to vary the types of sentences used. 4) Bring 3 sharpened pencils, an eraser and a sharpener for the exam tomorrow. 5) You may bring a small bag with you. Sch ends at 12.30 pm tomorrow. 6) No sch next week- PSLE Marking 7) Eng Paper 2 Exam, Listening Comprehension Exam and Spelling Exam will be on 21 October (after the PSLE Marking holidays) Pls revise for it.

1) Parent to sign Listening Comprehension trial paper. Revise and put in brown file. 2) Pls note that for Compo notes, pupils need only memorise the part on colourful phrases. Pls guide pupils to write a story of between 100-150 words. Pls remind your son not to write too much of dialogue. Maybe between 1-3 setences is sufficient. Pupils who are not able to use the correct punctuation for dialogue are strongly advised not to include dialogue. Marks are also deducted for incorrect spelling in the compo exam. 3) Sch will end at 12.30 on Friday 11 Oct.

Sorry about that. 3) Unit 18 will not be tested for exam. 4) Events Participation Form is given. Pls hand in by Monday 23 Sep. A nil return is required. 5) Pls revise for English Oral starting from Monday 23 Sep to Wed 25 Sep. Revise Speak Well Package, going through all notes and practice exercises. Some details about the Oral Exam. -Pupils are expected to speak in complete sentences. -Pupils will be given some time to read and practise on their own before being tested by the examiner. They will be given a plastic folder with the reading passage on the front and the stimulus-based conversation on the flip side. No written prompts are given on the section with the stimulus -based conversation. The prompts will instead be asked by the examiner. Pupils are expected to practise reading the passage softly on their own during this time. They also have to use this time gainfully to guess/ predict the conversation prompts and try answering/ practising on their own. They can do this because 4 pictures will be shown on the page. A favourite question asked at this point would be "What is your favourite _____? and give reasons why you would pick the item. "(choice is based on the 4 pictures). The second part will be an exitension question on the same theme. Eg "Do you have the item with you at home now? Tell me how you use it." or "Have you watched that television programme before? Tell me about it." Pupils can just guess topics and questions and practise during this time. -Pupils should try to speak/read with expression and use the correct tense when speaking. - Pupils can also use the newspapers and magazines to practise their reading and stimulus-based conversation over the week-end. 6) Parent to sign P4C booklet. Do Pg 7 and 8. Do all corrections in blue. Booklet must be completed. If not, pls do. Pass up on Monday. 7) HE WB are returned for revision.

There are two components - Reading Aloud and Stimulus-based conversation. Revise the 'Speak Well' Package. For the conversation component, pupils are strongly encouraged to speak as much as they can on the prompts.- 4 to 5 sentences on each prompt. Use expression and speak clearly in complete sentences. A good guide would be to cover aspects of the WH questions on the theme or topic( Who, What, Where, Why, What, Which, When, How). 5) Parent to sign Spelling bk. 1) Pupils to bring plastic bags to clear out things kept under the pupils' desks. Please also clear valuables from the lockers.
2) There will be a mini "Use Your Hands " activity tomorrow after recess. Pupils , pls bring a small rag that you can throw away (after the activity) to clean classroom.
3) Brown and purple files will be returned for revision tomorrow. Pls return the 2  files on the 1st day after the June holidays. For some pupils, there were WS missing / not filed in the brown and purple files. Pls look for them in the home or in your homework folders and file them accordingly.

1) Letter for "Teach Me To Fish" is given to pupils. Pls hand in reply slip.

3)Grammar and Vocab  AMODES will be carried out next Wed. Pls revise.
4) Make a costume based on any character from a Roald Dahl book. Character needs to say a few lines to introduce himselfr. Pupils need to parade in costume on Monday 11 March. They can come in their costumes on that day. Costumes need to be made from recycled materials.
5) Read the book "James and The Giant Peach" so that you can participate in station activities in week 10 during recess. You can also read the bvooks selected for the other levels. Refer to letter to parents.

1) Letter on EL Week - STAGE is given out to pupils. Details will be given later. Pupils have to come on Monday 11 /3 wearing a costume based on any character from a book written by Roald Dahl.

Refer to worksheet 15 for examples. Corrections will be explained in class on Monday. Need to know number bonds and part-whole for addition and subtraction.

2) Pls take note that thrre is an error in the List of Collective Nouns. It should be 'an army of ants' and not a swarm of ants. The spelling for the ' troupe of dancers' should also be 'troupe". I apologise for the errors. ( Thanks, Mrs Ong )

1)  Pls be informed that the AMODES test for Listening Comprehension will be carried out next Wednesday 20 Feb. Pls revise Learning sheet 2.13, 2.14 and 3.6. Pupils will be tested on beginning and ending sounds. Some pupils are still confused and think that these sounds refer to rhyming sounds. There will be a trial exercise for the pupils today.
2) The deadline for the Food Drive for the less fortunate will be tomorrow. Pls bring your items if you wish to contribute to those who are less fortunate.

1) Please be reminded to come to school in your Chinese traditional clothing/sch uniform and sch shoes tomorrow. Sch will be dimissed at the usual time. (1.45 pm)
2) Pls remember to bring your food item for the class party which will be from 8.30 am, to 9.30 am. After that, pupils are to help clear and tidy the areas and tables used.
3) You may bring a small bag. Lessons that will go on for tomorrow are those between 11.45 am - 1.15 pm. Bring diary as well.

1) Please take note that there will not be any Literacy Blk session with the class next Monday 28 Jan. The Sweimming Carnival Heats will be held  that afternoon and  pupils taking part in the heats will be excused from class to have their lunch at 12.45 pm.
2) Pupils will be borrowing a book weekly from the Class Library Cupboard as from today.( every Wed)  Please remind your son to take care of the book and be careful not to misplace it. Pupils will have to pay $5 to replace any lost book.
3) There will be a paper -cutting session ( shapes and patterns)  tomorrow in the Library during recess. If your child is interested, he can bring along his scissors  and join in the activity.

1) There were many pupils who actually submitted thermometers that were not working. The thermometers have been given back to the pupils . Pls check to ensure that they are in working order. Replace those that are spoilt or where batteries are not working. PPupils are supposed to bring their thermometers toi sch everyday.
